I was born in Mangalore, India but spent most of my childhood in Mumbai, India. I got my bachelor's degree in Information Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India. I have now made Omaha, Nebraska my home and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
I began my career working as a Systems Engineer for a major IT consulting firm called as Tata Consultancy Services, and was part of a data warehousing project, where I helped support and administer the production environment for my client General Electric (GE - Capital). During my time there, I realized the importance of getting a master's degree, along with the need to utilize my talents to better serve the community. Along with school, I currently work as the Service Supervisor (Educational Support) for the Collaborative, Office of Civic and Social Responsibility at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and as an Intern for a non profit organization called WhyArts Inc, which aims to provide inclusive quality arts programming to those in need.
I have vast experience dealing with diverse groups of people working with the Collaborative and WhyArts but also through exposure being a member of Student Government performing the role of a Senator for Graduate Studies, as a Global Diplomat with the International office guiding and offering settling in assistance to new international students, as part of the event staff at Baxter Arena and as a Liturgical Minister with the Archdiocese of Omaha.
I am extremely passionate about biking, kayaking and going on random long distance adventures, and I am currently attempting to learn ball room dancing. I will graduate in spring 2017 and I wish to establish myself in the IT sector as well as the non profit world to get involved in the community. Once I graduate, I will be working as a Systems Engineer for the company Perfecta Media, a tribally owned organization to put my IT skills to good use, and also continue working with my non profit organization WhyArts in a Management/IT position.
